Disney Art Academy will be removed from the Nintendo 3DS eShop

Nintendo announced that the downloadable version of Disney Academy of Arts for Nintendo 3DS will be removed from the Nintendo 3DS eShop on March 30, 2021. However, users who have already purchased the download version will still be able to download it after March 31. This follows a wave of other delisting announcements, following the end of production of the Nintendo 3DS late last year.

Disney Art Academy rreleased in May 2016. Developed by Headstrong Games, it was the last of the Academy of Arts series of games. Others include Pokémon Academy of Arts, which was the first 3DS title to have an art sharing feature through Nintendo’s Miiverse.

Disney Academy of Arts teaches players how to draw characters from popular Disney franchises. The game features a variety of brushes, backgrounds, and a multi-level course system that teaches basic electronic drawing concepts.

The most recent example of eShop write-offs dates back to January, when Nintendo wrote-off many DSi games before reinstalling some of them.

Again, Disney Academy of Arts will be phased out at the end of March 2021 in Japan. Players who have previously purchased the downloadable version of the game can redownload it even after the game has been removed from the eShop. More information on how to redownload deleted games can be found on Nintendo’s FAQ page.
