Classic Console Customizer Calls Retro Gamers

What if I told you that someone combined the classic Nintendo Entertainment System with the Ecto-Containment Unit from the original 1984 Ghostbusters? That would confuse you, wouldn’t it? Well, it’s true. Today we learn about a retro console designer, Retro Phoenix, who made it possible. The Retro team came up with the name Nintendo Containment Unit for their latest release and painted it red. Other than that, the designer added a top bay door where the Ghost Trap, ribbon cable, split weave tube, and hazard tags would be placed.

Using red and green light to pull off the Ghost Trap reminds us of what Ray Stantz, a fictional Ghostbusters character, once said. “The light is green, the trap is clean.”

Besides the console, the Retro Phoenix attached a slime-dripping controller. This is not a real slime but a dramatic effect given to focus on the ‘Simmer’. Those interested in purchasing this classic remake can head over to Retro Phoenix’s Facebook page. The entire unit costs over $250 and is available upon request.

Retro Phoenix achieves another marvel!

In addition to making this classic custom, the team also made a DMG Gameboy. This Nintendo classic is inspired by a Macintosh design helping users get a complete retro experience. The device comes with a backlit LCD screen displaying 32 color palettes.
