Uh, horseshoe crab rescue! coming to Nintendo 3DS next week – Thumbsticks

Calling all horseshoe crab enthusiasts! It’s time to dust off your Nintendo 3DS.

The Nintendo 3DS is getting a new game next week, some 10 years and 263 days since the console’s launch in Japan.

Horseshoe Crab Rescue! gives crab fans the chance to scour a beach for beached crabs, turn them over, and save their lives.

Uh, okay.

Here’s how developer Kevin Foley presents the game:

“It’s breeding time for horseshoe crabs, which means they will come to the beach to lay and fertilize their eggs. Horseshoe crabs have been around for hundreds of millions of years, but they have one weakness: if they turn on their backs on the beach, they get stuck! Fortunately, humans can help them. In Horseshoe Crab Rescue!, you’ll help these incredible creatures by flipping stranded horseshoe crabs on their backs. Hurry around the beach and try to rescue as many horseshoe crabs as you can before time runs out!

“Horseshoe Crab Rescue! is a casual game with light educational elements. Play through 15 stages of increasing difficulty as you try to beat your high scores and learn a few facts along the way. Be sure to check out the manual included (Home > Manual while the game is running) for more educational information on horseshoe crabs!”

While it’s nice to see the Nintendo 3DS always getting new games, we’ll file this one under odd.

Ah, one last note. Horseshoe Crab Rescue! is only compatible with New Nintendo 3DS systems. He will come out on 3DS Online Store November 16, 2021.
